About the Editor :
Dr. Debesh Bhowmik (Dr. Debes Chandra Bhaumik) obtained honours and post-graduation in Economics from University of Kalyani (W.B.) and Ph.D. from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (W.B.). He was associated in International Institute for Development Studies, Kolkata (W.B.). He is a life member of Indian Economic Association (IEA), The Indian Econometric Society, Bengal Economic Association and Economic Association of Bihar. He has written ‘Essays on International Money’, ‘Economics of Poverty’, ‘The Euro Crisis’, ‘Asian Economic Integration’, ‘India and her Ancient International Trade’ (with Prof. R.K. Sen), ‘Application of Econometrics in Economics’ and has edited ‘International Monetary System’ and ‘The Lighting of Empowerment: Gender Equity Development and Women Empowerment’ (with others) respectively. He wrote more than 150 research papers which were published in reputed journals and edited volumes. His paper was accepted in the International Economic Association in Moscow Conference. Ten of his research papers were accepted in foreign conferences. He won gold medal from Indian Economic Association (IEA) as the best paper writer in 2006. Presently, he is a retired Principal.
