About the Book :

About the Authors
Dr. Jiwitesh Kumar Singh is a Retd. Professor and Head of the University Department of Economics, B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. He is the Former Professor Emeritus, L.N. Mishra College of Business Management (an Autonomous College under B.R.A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur). Dr. Singh was also a member of the Post-Graduate Research Council, Faculty of Social Science and the Board of Courses and Studies in Economics of the University. Besides, he is the Ex-Dean, Faculty of Social Science of B.R.A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. His field of specialisation is Labour Economics, Regional Economics and International Economics.Dr. J.K. Singh has to his credit a number of articles and research papers published in various reputed and leading economic journals. His books on Regional Economics (1978), Labour Economics, Principles, Problems and Practices (1998) International Trade and Business : Issues and Challenges in the 21st Century (2001), Environmental and Development (2004) and Economics of J.K. Mehta : A Peep into Mehtanomics (2006) are widely acclaimed both in India and abroad. Besides his own doctoral research work on Collective Bargaining in the coal mines of Jharia, he has successfully supervised a number of research scholars for the Ph.D. degree.
Dr. Singh has also worked as Head of the Post-Graduate Department of Economics, L.S. College, Muzaffarpur, Principal, S.N.S. College, Motihari, Member, Task Force, Bihar State Planning Board, Patna, Research Consultant, L.N. Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change, Patna and Director, Workshop on People’s Participation and Five Year Plans in India.
Dr. Singh is a life member of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and the Bihar Economic Association (BEA). He has participated and presented papers in national as well as international seminars, symposia and conferences.
Dr. Binay Kumar Singh is at present Associate Professor in the Post-Graduate Department of Economics, Jagdam College, Chapra under the jurisdiction of J.P. University, Chapra, Saran, Bihar. His field of specialisation is Labour Economics and he has got his book on Labour Economics : Five Year Plans and Labour Administration, Industrial Disputes, Labour Legislation, published under the Joint authorship of Dr. J. Mishra and Dr. J.K. Singh. Besides, his own doctoral research work on ‘A case study of the Occupation Structural of Population in Bihar’, he has successfully supervised research scholar for the Ph.D. degree.
Dr. B.K. Singh is a Life Member of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and the Bihar Economic Association (BEA). He has participated in national seminars, symposia and conferences.
