Labour, being a human factor, is different from other factors of production. About the Authors
Dr. Jagannath Mishra is a Retd. Professor of Economics of B.R.A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and Former Dean, Faculty of Management of the University, Muzaffarpur (Bihar). Dr. Mishra has to his credit a number of articles and research papers published in various reputed and leading journals. He has also got published his books on Money, Banking and International Trade and Public Finance. Besides his own Ph.D. degree, he has supervised a number of research scholars for Ph.D. degree. He is also Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Former Union Minister, Government of India.Dr. Jiwitesh Kumar Singh is a Retd. Professor and Head of the University Department of Economics, B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University Muzaffarpur. He is the former Professor Emeritus, L.N. Mishra College of Business Management, (an Autonomous College under B.R.A. Bihar University) Muzaffarpur (Bihar). Dr. Singh was also a member of the Post-Graduate Research Council, Faculty of Social Science and Board of Courses and Studies in Economics of the University. Besides, Ex-Dean, Faculty of Social Science of B.R.A. Bihar University. His field of specialisation is Labour Economics, Regional Economics and International Economics.
Dr. J.K. Singh has to his credit a number of articles and research papers published in various reputed and leading economic journals. His books on “Regional Economics” (1978); “Labour Economics: Principles, Problems and Practices” (1998); “International Trade and Business: Emerging Issues and Challenges in the 21st Century” (2001); “Environmental Economics and Development” (2004) and “Economics of J.K. Mehta: A Peep into Mehtanomics” (2006) are widely acclaimed both in India and abroad. Besides his own doctoral research on “Collective Bargaining in the Coal Mines of Jharia”, he has supervised a number of research scholars for Ph.D. degree.
Dr. Singh has also worked as head of the Post-Graduate Department of Economics, L.S. College, Muzaffarpur; Principal, S.N.S. College, Motihari, Member, Task Force, Bihar State Planning Board, Patna; Research Consultant, L.N. Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change, Patna and Director, Workshop on “People’s Participation and Five Year Plans in India.”
Dr. Singh is a Life Member of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and the Bihar Economic Association (BEA). He has participated in national and international seminars, symposia and conferences.
Dr. Binay Kumar Singh is at present Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Jagdam College Chapra under the jurisdiction of J.P. University, Chapra, Saran, Bihar. He has to his credit a number of articles and research papers published in leading economic journals and books. His field of specialisation is Labour Economics. Besides his own doctoral research on the topic, “A Case Study of the Occupational Structure of Population in Bihar”. He is supervising research scholars for Ph.D. degree.
Dr. Singh is a life member of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and the Bihar Economic Association (BEA). He has participated in national seminars, symposia and conferences.
